Michael Deroche is the Director of the Terrebonne Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness. He has held that position for the past ten years. Mr. Deroche has been a member of LEPA for approximately fourteen years. He served as a member on the LEPA/GOHSEP Workshop Committee for the 2002, 2005, Chairman 2006, 2007 Workshops, and on the Awards Committee for 2 years. Michael Deroche is also a member of the Southeast Hurricane Task Force, The River and Bayou Regional Mutual Aid and Assistance Task Force, Louisiana Fireman's Association, Terrebonne Fire Chief's Association, The International Association of Emergency Managers, and the Coteau Volunteer Fire Department.

Mr. Deroche is retired from the Houma Fire Department with 22 years of service, the last 8 years as Training Officer.  Also, for his last eight years with the fire department, he served as the parish fire service representative to the Office of Emergency Preparedness and as the Parish Haz-Mat Office.  He also has numerous certifications in Emergency Management courses through Federal Emergency Management Agency, holds a HazMat Tech Certification, and is a Certified Fire Service Instructor I and II.
